A bird baby quilt

I have been wanting to make a bird quilt for a while. Of late, am loving animal quilts so much I want to focus on making a few right away.

Pieced bird block

This bird block was made as part of the monthly blocks with the Mumbai Quilting friends, tutorial shared by Sridevi from Shriscapes and realised I love making pieced animals. And I want to continue on the same lines…a pieced baby quilt would be great to begin with.

I have been looking at patterns by Lorna from Sew Fresh Quilts for a while and have used her Dog Gone Cute and Elephant parade block in quilts earlier. You can see them here and here respectively so inching to make her birds now. Planning on using the bird blocks in a different arrangement to get a quilt that is fit for a one year old.

My niece will soon turn one and she would love a bright bird quilt to snuggle under, in winter.
