Loved this travel themed fabric Chezvies shop. So this got promptly added to my stash to become a travel themed bag when I garner enough courage to venture into the bag making world.

Travel themed fabric

My quilting friends have assured me that bags (at least the simple ones) are doable. ‘Tis just a matter of taking the plunge πŸ™‚

I am really happy with the super prompt service from Elvira, the owner.

This is a mini quilt that I made for a swap #wordswap2017 , the first swap of the year. Last year I took a break from swaps- both international and national(well! almost) and this year am back to the scene but have become very picky given the paucity of time.

Wordswap2017

I tried mixing the black&whites to get a textured look background and the pinks go from dark to light in the background. My swap partner is someone from far far away and the last time I had someone from the country I had to send to, it took ages and no tracking was updated. Hopefully over time, I will get the knack of mixing colours appropriately.

Wordswap2017

Hope its better this time and she receives it on time. The word ‘Love’ is something my partner had requested for.

Quilt Name: EPP Wordswap2017 mini quilt
Thread: Aurifil red, lovely Egyptian Mako cotton thread
Quilt Size: 12β€³ X 28β€³
Fabric: Alison Glass and local Indian black and white prints print
Batting: 180 gsm cotton batting
Binding: 2.5β€³ double machine binding
Quilting : Straight Line Quilting

I received this lovely mini from my partner in Germany.

Since these swaps work in a round robin fashion, I send to one quilting partner(cant revel until she receives it) and I received from the wonderful Kirstn(@diestoeckeline on Instagram) from Germany. This mini now adors my centre table in the living room so guests coming in can see how wonderfully talented my Quilting friends are from across the globe.

A new travel fabric from Quiltaholics for a passport wallet. Love the print and the amount of fabric is just enough for a small pouch πŸ™‚

Sunday Stash

I am just amassing a lot of fabric wealth with the hope that someday I will be able to sew all that I want to from the stash πŸ™‚

This is a lovely half yard of Olaf fabric…Yes! the Olaf from frozen. My little one wants a bagpack from it and I have no clue how to make one.

I found a tutorial on the Birch fabric blog but that has cording and am yet to venture into that kind of complication in bag making. To be frank, I am just stumped…not much help from Pinterest either 😦

Looks like I will have to design my own pattern!

In the meantime, if you are reading this and have a link to any tutorial, please share it with me…thanks in advance!

This is an amazing find. I got this fabric in early January and quickly made a craft apron from it for an upcoming swap. You can see the details of the swap and the craft apron here.

2017 Sunday Stash 5

So, this is a fabric find where the project came first and then comes the Sunday Stash post about acquiring the fabric πŸ™‚ hmmm…
That’s a first and a strange one at that.

This is a lovely thick canvas, perfect for making bags and cushions for quilty friends. I bought this from Quiltaholics around the wake of the new year and is about 2 metres in length. That’s a lot of fabric at 60″ width for multiple small projects.
